Bringing a wealth of experience to Principia High School, Joshua Spuhl serves as the Head Coach for Women's Basketball, marking his second year at Principia and 15th year as a Varsity Coach. With a coaching career spanning 20 years in high school basketball, Joshua specializes in the intricacies of the sport. His educational background includes a Masters in Athletic Administration, a Masters in Administration, and a Bachelors in Elementary Education. Certified in Mathematics, Physical Education, and Health, Joshua has dedicated 17 years to education, currently teaching Geometry and Physical Education.
Throughout his coaching journey, Joshua has made significant contributions, spending 5 years at Webster Groves High School and achieving historic milestones, including two Final Fours (2nd Place Finish, 3rd Place Finish) and two District Titles, marking the first in school history. Moreover, he also led Principia Girls Basketball to a district championship and a Final Four visit, securing a 2nd place finish in his second year here at Principia.
Joshua's coaching philosophy centers on a deep passion for working with young people and a commitment to mentorship. His coaching style, characterized by Family, Grit, and Honor, creates an environment that fosters success both on and off the court.
