Brian Gavaletz serves as the Associate Athletic Director at Principia School, bringing over two decades of experience in athletics to his role. With 18 years spent at a D3 college and the remainder in high school settings, Brian's journey in athletics has been diverse and enriching.
Educated at Principia College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management and holding a Master’s Degree in Sports/Facility Management from The United States Sports Academy, Brian has been deeply immersed in the world of sports from an academic standpoint as well.
His professional journey includes roles as a Graduate Assistant and Full-Time Coach at Principia College, followed by tenure as Assistant Athletics Director. Brian's passion for helping people and his love for sports have been the driving forces behind his coaching career. Inspired by excellent coaches who believed in him, Brian sees coaching as a means to honor their legacy while inspiring the next generation to reach their full potential.
In coaching, Brian's approach has always been rooted in seeing each student as unlimited in their potential and helping them recognize that within themselves. His core values include developing relationships, honesty, effort, communication, and selflessness.
While Brian may not pinpoint what sets his coaching apart, his dedication to coaching anyone willing to learn, give great effort, and embrace mistakes speaks volumes about his commitment to student-athletes' growth.

Outside of coaching, Brian cherishes spending time with his wife and children, nurturing their love for animals and enjoying their pets. He finds joy in watching his children grow and excel in sports, relishing simple pleasures like lunch at McDonald's.
A fitness enthusiast, Brian enjoys running, rowing, lifting weights, and delving into WWII history literature. His personal mantra, "FAMILY – Forget about me, I love you," underscores his commitment to relationships and selflessness.
