Maty Mauk Head Shot

Maty Mauk

Coach Mauk brings a rare blend of elite playing experience, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership to Principia football.

A record-setting high school quarterback in Ohio, Coach Mauk rewrote the national passing record books, finishing his prep career among the all-time leaders in completions, attempts, passing yards, and total offense. His standout career earned him Ohio’s Mr. Football award along with Parade and Sports Illustrated All-American honors.

Coach Mauk continued his football journey at the University of Missouri, competing in the Southeastern Conference. As the Tigers’ quarterback, he helped lead Missouri to back-to-back SEC East Division championships, demonstrating toughness, competitive fire, and a strong command of the game at the highest collegiate level.

His path through football has been shaped by growth through adversity and a deep understanding of the lessons sport can teach. Following his playing career and brief professional experience, Coach Mauk transitioned into coaching and mentorship, focusing on developing young athletes both on and off the field.

In April 2025, Principia School named Maty Mauk its Head Football Coach. He stepped into the role with a clear vision to build a culture rooted in effort, accountability, and character. His approach emphasizes disciplined preparation, aggressive yet respectful competition, and a commitment to team success over individual recognition.

Coach Mauk believes football is a powerful classroom for life. His goal is to develop student-athletes who compete with confidence, grow through challenge, and represent Principia with integrity and pride. Under his leadership, the Panthers are challenged to pursue excellence physically, mentally, and spiritually while honoring the traditions and values that define Principia Athletics.

When he’s not on the practice field or in the film room, Coach Mauk is focused on mentorship, connection, and helping each athlete reach their full potential as both players and people.
